Caledonia Housing Association scooped the Large Housing Association of the Year award at the Scottish Home Awards Gala Dinner held at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow last week, for the second time in four years.

To make a great night even better, Caledonia Housing Association Group members Cordale Housing Association was named Small Housing Association of the Year.

The awards are excellent accolades for both Caledonia and Cordale who were up against strong competition in both categories.

Those collecting the awards welcomed the recognition of the high quality services and performance within Caledonia and Cordale, as well as the continued commitment to investment in housing and services within local communities.

Julie Cosgrove, Caledonia’s chief executive, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Caledonia has been named Large Housing Association of the Year. Winning the award in 2014 was wonderful and to be awarded it twice is a great honour. We are all proud of the work we do at Caledonia to create a strategy that allows us to provide homes and services that make life better. Winning both the large and small Housing Associations of the Year within our Group is also a tremendous achievement.

“I would like to thank the staff team across the Group for their continuous efforts to deliver the best possible services for our customers. Thanks go to the sponsors of our awards, Aareon and CIH Scotland, as well as the other main sponsors, and of course thanks to the Scottish Home Awards themselves.”

Barry Johnstone, area director at Cordale, added. “Cordale’s journey over the last 4 years has been remarkable going from high regulatory engagement with the Scottish Housing Regulator to low engagement last year to being named Housing Association of the Year this year. The award is a recognition of the quality of our services and the commitment of our management committee, staff team and partner organisations to deliver the highest standards. It also reflects their hard work, dedication and tenacity for positive change.”
