The free annual event provides an opportunity for delegates to hear from national experts in the private rented sector, seek advice and information, and share best practice. The event takes place at Stirling’s Albert Halls on Wednesday May 16, from 1pm to 4.30pm.
Housing portfolio holder for Stirling Council, Councillor Evelyn Tweed, said: “The private rented sector plays an important role in Stirling’s housing landscape, and we are keen to support landlords and agents to continue to raise standards within the sector.
“There has already been significant interest about the Open Day – but places are still available. I would urge anyone interested in attending this free event to book their place soon.
“We are pleased to provide an opportunity for our landlords and agents to hear from expert speakers and to share best practice. Last year’s event was very well attended and I’m certain the upcoming Open Day will prove just as successful.”
- Scottish Association of Landlords Chief Executive, John Blackwood– speaking about the initial experiences of the new Private Residential Tenancy across Scotland;
- Under One Roof, Annie Flint– discussing the various issues surrounding common repairs and maintenance in shared buildings;
- Scottish Government Policy Manager, Charlotte McHaffie– providing an overview of the new letting agent regulations and code of practice; and
- Landlord Accreditation Scotland Director, Elspeth Boyle– presenting an interactive session looking at recurring areas of interest from their national training programme.
