A new development of one bedroom flats in the heart of Craigshill has been handed over to Almond Housing Association.

The nine flats at Forth Court were delivered on time and on budget in just eight months by main contractor CCG (Scotland) Ltd.

The flats were built in the off-site manufacturing specialist’s factory in Cambuslang using specially designed closed panel solutions which were pre-fabricated and then constructed in-situ.

George Webster, chief executive at Almond, said: “These nine new flats provide more much needed affordable homes to the area and have already proved to be very popular with our prospective tenants. This was a difficult, constricted site to develop and CCG have done a tremendous job in providing these quality homes and keeping disruption to adjacent neighbours to an absolute minimum.”

The majority of tenants have received their keys. Among them were Craig Hume and Susan Perry, who were both delighted to get the keys for their new flats.

In addition to Forth Court, CCG is working with Almond Housing Association in developing a 12 flat project at Foulshiels Road in Stoneyburn.

Calum Murray, director of CCG (Scotland) Ltd, said: “We commenced work on this site in January and it has been fantastic to see how quickly it has come to fruition. Creating properties off-site in our Cambuslang factory allows us to keep tight control of standards, ensuring we deliver environmentally efficient homes that are comfortable to live in and boast the highest quality of energy standards.

“Every year we’re continuing to expand the geographical spread of our business and the completion of this project will help to cement our position as one of the key social housing developers in the central belt. We look forward to continuing our work with Almond Housing Association throughout 2017 and to broadening our reach in this part of the country over the year ahead.”
