Argyll Community Housing Association (ACHA) has started work on two 3-bedroom family homes for rent in the village of Tayvallich in Mid Argyll.

The funding for the development has come from the Scottish Government, ACHA and Argyll and Bute Council.

The Association has two family homes already in the village and this development will double that provision.

The construction work is being carried out by Lochgilphead-based construction firm M&K MacLeod.

Alastair MacGregor, ACHA’s chief executive, said: “I am really pleased that we are on-site with these two new family homes and it is part of ACHA’s commitment to provide affordable housing in rural Argyll where provision is very low.”

Sandy Taylor, Argyll and Bute Councillor for Mid Argyll and a member of ACHA’s board, added: “As a local Councillor I am glad that these two new family homes are being built in Tayvallich and will be a community asset for the future.”

The two properties are due to be completed in July 2016.
