CCG completes large-scale window replacement for Whiteinch and Scotstoun HA

DSC_0029Glasgow-based construction firm CCG has completed a large-scale window replacement contract to over 400 properties in the north of Glasgow.

Delivered on behalf of Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association (WSHA), the company has utilised its integrated group structure with the manufacture of the timber windows undertaken in the bespoke, zero-waste manufacturing facility located at the company’s Cambuslang headquarters, and installed by its planned maintenance division, Asset Management.

The CCG Timber Dual Turn and Fully Reversible Windows have been installed across the project. Manufactured across a semi-automated production line, the windows were delivered to site fully finished to ensure a swift and easy installation.

John Paton, CCG manufacturing manager, said: “Our windows are precision engineered to ensure the highest quality for our clients. Timber windows are highly sustainable and have excellent environmental properties, ensuring that the tenants of Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association will savings on their energy bills.”

Stephen Riley, CCG Asset Management manager, said: “Working in homes that are occupied bring their own challenges, particularly with window renewal projects. However, because we are able to have the window delivered to site fully finished, our team spends less time on site and less time in the property. It’s an outstanding achievement for our team to have completed a contract of this type and size in a net period of one year or to put it plainly, one house every two days.”

A spokesperson for Whiteinch and Scotstoun HA added: “The Association is delighted with the way the contract has worked out and we thank CCG for providing a high quality product and an outstanding level of service. We are continually looking to enhance the living experience for our tenants and look forward to undertaking a second phase of improvements later in the summer.”

WSHA’s second phase of renewal will also be undertaken in partnership with CCG. Works will include further window renewal, as well as kitchen and bathroom upgrades and heating replacements.
