Consultation opens into reviewing and extending permitted development rights

The Scottish Government has published a consultation paper on its proposals for reviewing and extending permitted development rights.

The Phase 1 proposals relate to priority development types: digital telecommunications infrastructure; agricultural development; peatland restoration; and development related to active travel.

The government said the changes are being prioritised to help support Scotland’s green recovery from coronavirus and are designed to help deliver on key priorities, including tackling climate change and supporting remote and rural communities.

Responses are invited by November 12.
