Dundee companies cook up support for local charity

MS KitchenThe team at Tayside MS Therapy Centre, and the people who benefit from the service, have spoken of their delight at the efforts of four Dundee businesses who cooked up a new kitchen for the centre earlier this month.

Tayside MS Therapy Centre is a self-help, self-funding group of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis who are dedicated to improving life with MS.

The flooring for the new kitchen was supplied by Noble & Bradford, the taps and sink were gifted by Plumstore, JTC supplied the worktops and splash backs, and Hillcrest Maintenance Services managed the work and provided the labour.

Sheila Mitchell, MS Therapy centre manager, said: “We are extremely happy with the finished product and the kitchen has received lots of lovely compliments from our members.

“The work ran very smoothly and the lads that turned up to carry out the work were great – I really appreciate their efforts and they were very tidy and kitchen looked sparkling clean when they left.

“We are very thankful to Hillcrest Maintenance Services and the other companies for helping us.

“It’s lovely to know that there are still businesses who are happy to help small charities.”

The centre, which operates six days a week, opened in Dundee’s Peddie Street in 1982.

People affected by MS and many with other conditions attend the centre for Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment and other therapies.
