Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership consultation

Dundee City CouncilA consultation regarding the priorities of Dundee’s new health and social care partnership was launched yesterday.

The views of people who take part in the month-long consultation will be used to help plan and deliver services for the next five years.

Extensive discussions with interested parties have already helped to create a “draft key priorities” document which will be used in the development of the health and social care partnership’s Strategic and Commissioning Plan for Dundee.

Set up earlier this year the Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership was created as part of the Scottish Government’s programme of reform to improve the health and wellbeing of people who use health and care support services.

Health and Social Care Integration is all about designing joined-up services. In the future, staff from NHS Tayside and Dundee City Council social care will work closer together to make sure local services are organised around the individual person. This way of delivering services will mean people get the right care in the right place at the right time and are supported to live as independently as possible.

As part of the opinion gathering process to develop the detailed plan which will set out how services in Dundee will be delivered, a number of informal “drop-in” events have been arranged.

The consultation runs until Friday November 13.
