GHA named Gold Employer of the Year by Investors in People

Investors in PeopleInvestors in People has named Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) as Gold Employer of the Year (Not for profit) at its annual event to recognise high performance in people management.

The Awards, which received over 300 entries from organisations working in a variety of sectors and locations across the globe, celebrate the best people management practices amongst businesses.

The Gold Employer of the year (Not for profit) category recognises high-performing and high-achieving organisations that put people at the heart of their future success. Finalists are drawn from the top seven per cent of Investors in People organisations. Glasgow Housing Association was crowned the winner at the ceremony held on 29th June in London, at Old Billingsgate, and hosted by comedian Sally Phillips.

Martin Armstrong, chief executive of Wheatley Group, GHA’s parent organisation, said: “These awards recognise the “best of the best” worldwide, with final entries drawn from no fewer than 12 countries. Winning the Gold Employer of the Year (not for profit) award is an outstanding achievement.”

GHA chair Gordon Sloan added: “This award is testament to the hard work and dedication of all the staff at GHA and is further recognition of the work they do, day in, day out, to create better homes, better lives and a better Glasgow.”

The judging panel commented: “An outstanding submission, supported by great metrics and performance stats. The Think Yes campaign gives power to the front line, putting excellence in customer service and continuous improvements at the heart of what they do.”

Paul Devoy, head of Investors in People, said: “Once again we have been overwhelmed by the number and calibre of entries received for the Investors in People Awards. It’s fantastic to see so many organisations nominated for outperforming in their sector, demonstrating great people management practice and a commitment to staff development, all winners should feel extremely proud.”
