Hillcrest Housing Association was hailed as the best Large Housing Association of the Year at the Scottish Home Awards ceremony in Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel.

Hillcrest staff celebrated in front of around 400 representatives from the social housing sector as they beat competing organisations including the country’s largest housing association, Glasgow Housing Association.

Angela Linton, Hillcrest group of companies’ chief executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted to win such a prestigious and sought after award.

“Winning Housing Association of the Year is a testament to our hardworking team, who really are the best in the business.

“Each year we work hard to deliver the best affordable housing, excellent support services and much more to our tenants and customers. This is very rewarding work in itself but it’s great to be recognised by our peers for our commitment to excellence.”

Hillcrest was also shortlisted in the Large Affordable Housing Development of the Year and Innovation in Housing category but narrowly missed out on the prizes.

Fiona Morrison, deputy chief executive, said: “We are thrilled to have taken home the Housing Association of the Year Award and pleased that the judges shortlisted us in two other categories.

“We would like to congratulate the other winners and shortlisted organisations.”
