Continuing its record of providing employability opportunities, Link Group Ltd has launched its new Link Academy facility in the centre of Falkirk.

Through its LinkLiving subsidiary, the group has been delivering a range of successful employability initiatives in Clackmannanshire, Edinburgh, Falkirk and Fife for a number of years. The aim of the Link Academy is to provide a centralised hub for these initiatives, helping more people fulfil their potential through employment, training and volunteering.

Link acquired the building that is now the Link Academy in May 2017, and it has since been re-fitted by Link’s in-house trades team, Link Property to meet customer-specific needs. The building now includes a number of training suites, ICT learning facilities, informal spaces and staff offices.

Link’s employability and volunteering services offer award-winning volunteer programmes, training courses and qualifications to support people into employment. It has particular expertise in supporting hard to reach young people to develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to progress into training and employment.

Sarah Smith, director of LinkLiving, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our Link Academy brand, which encompasses both our approach to employability and the facilities we use to deliver services.

“Our new building in Falkirk provides us with a central hub from which we can further enhance our position as a national employability provider, enabling us to provide our range of person-centred support services to more people, helping them achieve a better quality of life.”

Minister for employability and training, Jamie Hepburn, added: “Ensuring we provide access to a range of training and employability support helps to create an educated, skilled and motivated workforce, which in turn supports Scotland’s economy.

“I am pleased to witness first-hand the excellent work the Link group is doing to help support young people into employment and I am positive the new Link Academy will further enhance this valuable service.”
