Link tenant evicted for anti-social behaviour

A Paisley tenant who was responsible for serious anti-social behaviour over a prolonged period has been evicted from his home.

Link Housing Association pursued the court action following continual complaints from neighbours regarding the tenant’s conduct in and around the vicinity of his home, including excessive noise, frequent disturbances, threatening behaviour, verbal abuse and wilful fire raising.

Link said it took all possible efforts to support the tenant to modify his behaviour nevertheless, despite those interventions, the anti-social behaviour continued.

Housing officers from Link worked in conjunction with residents, its solicitor and Police Scotland.

Five neighbours attended court to provide evidence to the Sheriff of their experience of living next door this anti-social neighbour.

Link’s chief executive, Craig Sanderson, said: “As a responsible landlord, Link will initially offer support to those allegedly responsible for anti-social behaviour.

“If this continues, however, and causes distress to other members of the community, then in line with our policy we will take firm action to protect our tenants.”
