Local heroes in North West Glasgow will be honoured this year in special community awards held by Queens Cross Housing Association.

The Awards are particularly special this time round as 2016 is the Association’s 40th anniversary year.

The Pride of Queens Cross Awards put a spotlight on the achievements of Queens Cross residents and staff across a number of categories, including working together, customer focus, clean and green, and outstanding contribution to the community.

The awards are supported by community regeneration specialist Keepmoat which is currently delivering multi-million pound investment works to the Association’s Cedar multi-storey flats in the Woodside neighbourhood.

To launch the awards, Wei Na, tenant and community gardener, was joined by Queens Cross handyperson Vinnie Hughes, Queens Cross board chair Margaret Glass and regional managing director of Keepmoat, Eamonn McGarvey, in the Woodside Community Garden.
