Maryhill Housing has announced the appointment of its new chief executive.

Bryony Willett, who takes over immediately, was the organisation’s director of housing services.

Bryony has a wealth of experience of the housing sector both in local government and in the senior role she took up at Maryhill in August 2015.

Announcing the appointment, Maryhill Housing chair Roger Popplewell said Bryony would bring energy and drive to her new role and had been the most impressive candidate from a very strong field of applicants.

Roger said: “We are delighted that Bryony is to be our new chief executive. Bryony has had a very successful period with us as director of housing services and we congratulate her on this new appointment.

“Bryony is a dedicated housing professional who understands very clearly the strong community role that we play in keeping with the values of the housing association movement. She shares our vision of Maryhill Housing as an organisation inspiring passion in people, for our homes and our community.”

Bryony said: “I am excited to be taking on this new role with Maryhill Housing. Since I came here almost two years ago I have been deeply impressed by the commitment and hard work of our exceptional staff.

“We are also very fortunate to have an excellent Board made up of individuals deeply committed to the wellbeing and improvement of the Maryhill and Ruchill communities and to provide the best housing possible for the people we serve.

“We are all now looking forward to the future as we head into a new era of realising ambition at Maryhill Housing.”
