Council house tenants have been invited to speak with Midlothian Council officials at its annual Tenants’ Day on Friday 26 June.

The free event invites council house tenants to discuss topics such as the tenant satisfaction survey results and the council’s housing allocation policy, as well as giving them more information about the annual garden competition.

Stalls at the event will provide information on everything from community safety to the Bookbug library service for children.

The council said the family-friendly event is an ideal opportunity for parents in council accommodation to meet with housing staff.

The event, which runs from 1pm-3.30pm at the Lasswade High School Centre, features a summer buffet, face painting, a pick ‘n’ mix, a crèche for kids, and a bingo with a wide variety of prizes.

Tenants can also exercise and be awarded with a delicious drink by taking a turn on the ‘smoothie bike’.

Cllr Owen Thompson, the council’s cabinet member for housing, said: “Not only is it a fun day out for the family, but it’s also a great opportunity to meet housing staff who can answer any questions you might have on housing issues.”
