A Glasgow MSP saw first-hand how young apprentices are improving GHA communities.

John Mason MSP met some apprentices hard at work in his Glasgow Shettleston constituency this week.

The apprentices work alongside GHA’s environmental teams while completing a one-year Modern Apprenticeship in warehousing and storage.

The scheme is a partnership between GHA, Glasgow Training Group and Skills Development Scotland.

Mr Mason said: “The Modern Apprenticeship programme is so important.

“The apprentices here are learning new skills and gaining qualifications.

“Organisations like GHA are making a real difference to young people’s lives.”

Alex Adrain, GHA’s neighbourhood services leader, said: “We always want to help young people in our communities into work and training.”

Scottish Apprenticeship Week runs from 18-22 May.
