Nominations for the inaugural Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) awards are closing at the end of August, organisers have warned.

The awards ceremony is taking place at the historic Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on Wednesday 3 October, 12pm-4pm, and is free to attend for SPA partners.

SPA partners and appointed companies are invited to submit their projects for a SPA Award in categories including:

  • Best Housing Project
  • Most Sustainable Project
  • Best Use of Rebate
  • Most Innovative Project
  • Best Community Benefit Initiative
  • Gold Hat for Best Appointed Company
  • Best Housing Project is open to SPA partners and appointed companies who have worked together through our frameworks to deliver housing to their communities. SPA are seeking entries that demonstrate excellence no matter their size or volume.

Most Sustainable Project is open to SPA partners and appointed companies whose projects, through SPA frameworks have demonstrated excellent sustainability, such as increased energy efficiency in their tenant’s properties.

Best Use of Rebate is open to each SPA partner who has received a rebate from SPA and used it to improve the lives of their community. Projects that have used part, or all, of the rebate are eligible.

Most Innovative Project is open to SPA partners and appointed companies whose projects, through SPA frameworks, have demonstrated a cutting edge and innovative approach.

Best Community Benefit Initiative is open to SPA partners or appointed companies who have undertaken projects that demonstrate a positive social impact or added social value to their community, no matter their size or scope.

Gold Hat is the most coveted by SPA Appointed companies, as nominations are received by SPA partners. Partners can submit entries for companies that have shown dedication, a high level of customer service and worked hard to support their requirements.

SPA director Clive Feeney said: “The SPA awards are our opportunity to shine a light on the excellence we see in the public sector. We see projects of all shapes, sizes and configurations that are really making a difference to communities throughout Scotland. Those spearheading these projects, through our frameworks, deserve recognition for their dedication and commitment. Any project that has been procured through a SPA framework since our inception is eligible for nomination.

“Our expert judging panel is comprised of industry leaders in areas ranging from offsite construction and procurement to social enterprise and housing associations. The shortlist of nominees will be announced in September.”
