Opening the doors at Queens Cross Housing Association

Residents finding out more about services at Queens Cross Housing Association

Queens Cross Housing Association opened its doors last week in what was the organisation’s very first open day.

Almost a hundred tenants took part in guided tours, activities and interactive workshops as they got to see their housing association up close.

The event, at their main building on Firhill Road, invited tenants to get behind-the-scenes to meet the staff, ask questions about their services and ways to get involved.

There was also bus tours running throughout the event, which gave tenants the opportunity to see and find out more about the four areas in North Glasgow which the association represents.

Local partners, such as NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Glasgow City Council, Canal Partnership and Police Scotland attended the event to give tenants more information about other local services in the community.

Regeneration proposals for Woodside and Hamiltonhill proved particularly popular.

Chief executive, Shona Stephen, said: “We wanted to host this open day to give tenants the chance to see what goes on beyond reception and ask for their views on developments and investments planned for their neighbourhood as well as our services.

“This was the first event of its kind that the association has held and we were delighted to welcome so many tenants and community partners to the day and get such a positive response.”
