Since the turn of the year ng homes has been delighted to receive no fewer than four high profile awards.

The achievements include the reaccreditation of the Investors in People Gold Standard and the Investors in People Health & Wellbeing award which ng homes has held for the last three years.

IIP Assessor Alix Malcolm commented that she had found a lot of evidence of high performance and praised the enthusiasm, passion and skills of staff and the positive impact it was having on the North Glasgow community.

Tony Sweeney, head of corporate services at ng homes, which has been an IIP organisation since 2002, said: “The awards are testament to the commitment and hard work of the Association’s Board and Staff. The assessment process provided a great opportunity for staff to get involved and let us know what they think about the organisation and to provide their ideas for the future.”

In addition, the Association also recently had a successful Customer Service Excellence (CSE) Review.

The assessor John Thurgood stated that “a strong culture of Customer Service is very apparent in North Glasgow”.

He commended the Association’s strong economic partnerships and ng homes’ involvement in the social, economic and physical life of the community and highlighted that he was very impressed with the professionalism and commitment of all the staff he met.

Ann Marie Devlin, depute chief executive at ng homes, said: “The Assessor was very impressed by our approach to customer service and the support we provide to the North Glasgow community in general. The assessment was very positive and it was great to hear that the Assessor had identified excellent examples of successful outcomes.”

The final award was the ‘Outstanding Team’ at the Local Environmental Quality awards in March, where ng homes was honoured to be one of six organisations recognised for its work in helping to protect the environment.

The Association was found to have a strong environmental strategy in place and Margaret Fraser, regeneration manager at ng homes, praised the team for the ongoing success of the regeneration and environmental programmes.

ng homes chairman, John Fury, said: “Environmental quality is high on the agenda for ng homes and this award recognises the collective effort of the Board and Staff from ng homes and our subsidiary company ng2 Ltd. This includes our concierge, ng2 estate operatives, volunteers and focus group members. We feel privileged to be recognised for the work we do, but the award is also recognition of the dedication and hard work of local tenants and residents in the area.”

Robert Tamburrini, ng homes chief executive, added: “The range of awards are symbolic of the incredible hard work and commitment of our Board and staff from across the ng Group and the support of our tenants and it’s a privilege for the organisation to receive them. We’re always proud to receive awards and we feel it’s a great honour to have such a talented group of people contributing to our success.”

On top of these four awards, ng homes was also commended by Police Scotland Youth Volunteers for its outstanding support to the Greater Glasgow Youth Volunteers Programme and received a certificate in recognition and appreciation of the support.
