SHARE: Becoming a great leader

SHARE: Becoming a great leader

It is widely recognised that there is a difference between being a manger and being a leader, that leaders can do more to inspire and innovate their teams, rather than just manage them.

With this in mind, SHARE work closely with ilm to develop training that proves valuable in helping established or aspiring managers become great leaders.

ilm are the UK’s top leadership and management qualification specialists, dedicated to harnessing the power of leadership to transform people and businesses for the better. SHARE is pleased to be able to offer to the sector an ilm level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills. This four day course, delivered over 2 months, provides an excellent basis for aspiring and existing leaders and managers to learn about the art of leading successful, happy and productive teams.

The four units covered in this course are all designed to give a holistic view of what is required to be a good leader; roles and responsibilities of the team leader; planning and monitoring work; understanding change in the workplace and workplace communication.  The learning for each unit is reinforced by the completion of a short assignment which will encourage participants to reflect on their workplace practices and so relate the learning to practical issues they face in the office.

Delegates will be supported by SHARE’s tutor Heather Ballantine, have access to many ilm resources and gain a year’s ilm membership.

As the sector grapples with succession planning issues at a variety of levels, this course provides a fantastic opportunity to develop and grow existing and future leaders.

The course begins on February 27 and you can find out more about it and book your place at HERE.

If you would like to discuss your requirements please get in touch with SHARE’s learning and development team at 0141 370 6877.
