Shire Housing Association ‘blown away’ as youngster raises £10,000

Shire Housing Association was ‘blown away’ by the fundraising efforts of local lad Mason Kidd.

Kind-hearted 12 year-old Mason from Cumnock has raised an outstanding £10,000 for charity in memory of his brother Ross.

Mason challenged himself to carry out 18 good deeds in the local community to mark what would have been his brother’s 18th birthday. His 18th good deed was to raise money for Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital Charity and Shire Housing Association donated £200 from its Wider Role fund to support this fantastic cause.

Janet Allan, the Association’s chairperson, said: “We are delighted to support Mason’s fantastic fundraising efforts, which are truly inspirational. His hard work and commitment to the local community reflects what we at Shire are all about, creating ‘Great Homes, Great People, and Vibrant Communities’.”
