Perth & Kinross Council housing tenants can now use a smartphone app to pay their rent hassle-free, anywhere and anytime.

The ‘allpay app’ is available free of charge and allows tenants to pay their rent easily at the touch of a button, using either a credit or debit card.

The first time tenants use the app they are asked to create an account and select a four digit passcode.

They then enter their payment details, and select Perth & Kinross Council as the organisation to make their payments to.

App users can store details of more than one credit or debit card, and the app securely retains all payment information so tenants don’t have to enter their details each time they use it.

The allpay app is available to download from the appstores on the Apple, Android and Windows Phone platforms by searching for ‘allpay’.

Housing and health convener, councillor Dave Doogan, said: “It’s very important that all of our tenants pay their rent in full and on time, so we have to make it as easy and convenient as possible for them to do so.

“The allpay app is a great addition to the range of existing ways that tenants can pay their rent, without having to visit a council office or the post office. They can make their payments wherever they are, anytime of the day or night, with a few clicks of their smartphone.

“I would encourage tenants who have a smartphone to download the app and give it a go. It will make their rent payments quick and simple, and the app is totally secure.”
