Waverley donates to Callum’s 100-mile run for cancer

Waverley Housing has made a donation to a cancer charity after an employee’s son challenged himself to run 100 miles in 100 days to support it.

Callum Murray from Hawick, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in 2011, wanted to raise money to give back to Children with Cancer and Leukaemia, Advice and Support for Parents (CCLASP) by organising a charity run.

CCLASP, which provided support for Callum’s family after his diagnosis, helps children and teenagers suffering from cancer and leukaemia as well as their parents.

Callum’s mother, Tracy Murray, is employed as a property services assistant with Waverley Housing. Her colleagues at Waverley were delighted to join Callum on Friday for the ninety-third mile of his run.

After the run, Gregor Booth, operations director at Waverley Housing, presented Callum with a cheque to the charity from the housing association.
