West Lothian CouncilWork has commenced on 95 new council homes across two sites in West Lothian.

A development of 41 new homes in Winchburgh is now underway and enabling works have also begun to facilitate the development of 54 new council homes at Deans South in Livingston.

West Lothian Council hopes to have the new Winchburgh homes completed by Summer 2018 and the new homes at Deans South by Autumn 2018.

The Winchburgh project is being undertaken as part of the new Winchburgh Core Development Area (CDA).

The site is being built in tandem with another affordable housing development by Wheatley Group.

Between the two developments, there will be 96 new rented homes delivered through land that was supplied by lead developer Winchburgh Developments Ltd via the council’s affordable housing policy.

At Deans South, 117 new council homes are planned for the area and work is being completed in phases.

In total, the council is building 1,000 new council homes across all ward areas - making the local authority one of Scotland’s largest providers of new build, council properties.
