West of Scotland Housing Association sets Gold standard for employee health

West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA) is proud to have achieved the Gold Award from Healthy Working Lives in recognition of its dedication to ensuring staff are happy, healthy and motivated.

A key part of its success with this initiative is the dedicated Healthy Working Lives Team involving staff from across the organisation. The team organise a range of inclusive campaigns, charitable fundraising, and events aimed at increasing the health and wellbeing of staff.

A large number of staff also take part in a number of lunchtime health and wellbeing sessions including massages, chiropody and yoga.

Lynne Donnelly, chief executive, WSHA, said: “Everyone at WSHA is delighted to have received the Healthy Working Lives Gold Award. The award reflects our dedication to promoting a healthy, safe and supportive workplace where people feel valued and empowered to make a positive impact in the communities we serve.  The award is a testament to the commitment our staff have to ensuring West of Scotland is a happy and healthy place to work. ”

Linda Roddie, external assessor for Healthy Working Lives, added: “It was clear throughout the assessment visit to WSHA that there is a real passion for the health and wellbeing of employees and that it underpins the organisation’s culture and strategy.  The enthusiasm demonstrated by the Healthy Working Lives Working Group for providing fun opportunities to help employees stay safe and healthy was matched by the commitment of senior management to support the journey.”
