SHARE/CIPFA Governance Programme
Who is it for and what’s it about
Exclusive to SHARE this three-day SHARE/CIPFA programme focuses on good governance practice in the Scottish social housing sector. If you work in a governance related role then this programme is for you.
Course Content
Day 1 – Governance Good Practice and Accountability – explores the fundamentals of corporate governance in a wider context as well as within that of housing associations/co-operatives. It will define current best practice and encourage delegates to reflect on practice within their own organisation.
Day 2 – Governance and the Board – covers the importance of an effective governance framework as a means of ensuring that the governance arrangements of an organisation are “fit for purpose”. It will identify the roles of the various key players with an emphasis on how they interact and what they require from internal service providers.
Day 3 – Internal Assurance, Control and Process & Procedure – focuses on the internal controls and related processes and procedures required to ensure good governance.
In order to be awarded the ‘certificate of achievement in Corporate Governance’ delegates must submit a reflective assignment.
