This year brings an exciting new era for the annual TIS National Housing Conference and Exhibition which will transform the event experience for housing organisation professionals and tenant representatives alike. The conference format is rejuvenated, the event streamlined to two days, the venue hosted by the iconic Grand Central Hotel in the city centre of Glasgow, and the occasion shifted to mid-week.
From Thursday 9th - Friday 10th November 2023, the new and dynamic, two-day agenda, boasts an unrivalled line-up of expert speakers, engaging debates and discussions, ample networking opportunities, meaningful workshops, interesting study tours, supports peer-to-peer learning, and brings the sector together to drive forward as a collective and change housing in Scotland for the better.

Minister for Housing, Paul McLennan MSP will outline his current priorities and share his ambitions for the future of housing in Scotland. - The big debate live panel session, chaired by award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Pennie Taylor invites sector leaders to share facts, offer opinions, and discuss creative approaches to ensure we build a housing system that is resilient enough to tackle some of the most pertinent issues. Panellists include: Professor Pady Gray OBE, Louise Butchart – Head of Housing and Construction at Dundee City Council, Jon Turner – Chief Executive at Link, and Janelle Couper – Member of Maryhill Tenant Service Improvement Group.
- Workshops will explore revitalising and boosting economy, climate change and your home, tenant scrutiny in action, international housing perspectives, campaigning to end fuel poverty, youth engagement, damp and mould, supporting refugees to rebuild their lives, and the regulatory framework review. Sessions will be led by Aico, CIH Scotland, Connect Modular, Cunninghame Housing Association, Elderpark Housing Association, Energy Action Scotland, Scotland’s Housing Network, Scottish Housing Regulator, Swedish Tenant’s Association, and Positive Action in Housing.
- Study visits will see the latest developments first-hand including, the Claypits – Glasgow’s inner city nature reserve, the £140 million Laurieston transformation led by New Gorbals Housing Association, and beneath the tracks at Glasgow Central train station.
- Become immersed in an inspiring plenary shared by Michael Byrne - Director of Community Housing Services at Thenue Housing Association on his journey through trauma to triumph, and how he overcame traumatic life events and mental health challenges.
- Hosted by Scottish comedian and actor, Gary Lamont the TIS National Excellence Awards 2023 will take centre stage as housing organisations, tenants, and communities are recognised for the most outstanding work.
