An exciting opportunity to join Kingdom Support & Care and become part of a brand new Service in the Cupar area!
We support around 260 people throughout Fife and Falkirk, providing high quality and personalised support and care designed to meet individual needs and desired outcomes. Our aim is to support people to have a safe and secure home, to live as independently as possible in their own home, to live as full a life as possible and to be part of the community.
About the Service and Role
We are delighted to be setting up a new service in Cupar to support people with mental health issues to move from long stay hospital to their own homes in the community and this is an exciting time to be joining the team.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality support to 9 individuals in their own homes, all living within one area in a core and cluster model. You will have a positive, person-centred approach, an understanding of the day-to-day challenges faced by people with severe and enduring mental illness and be passionate about helping people to have fulfilling lives. You will be required to support people in their own homes, to develop and maintain independent living skills and to take part in activities in the community.
This service may require you to be trained in CALM – Crisis, Aggression, Limitation and Management and physical intervention techniques, if you have not had any training this will be provided to you.
We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated support workers and bank staff, who want to support people to have the best life possible. You will provide support for personal care, promoting and maintaining good mental health and participation in activities in the community, including leisure activities and engaging with health appointments and rehabilitation activities so energy and initiative is vital. To support staff into the service, we offer a comprehensive induction period with training tailored to the service and a buddy system to new staff, so you have the support of the whole team.
If you have experience in a support and care setting, with knowledge / experience of dealing with people with mental health and / or challenging behaviour, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
You must be able to support and be flexible in your approach to work and it is essential that you are able to work a rota which will include evenings, weekends and may include waking night shifts.
In return for the above we will offer an attractive salary and benefits package including full funding and support towards an SVQ qualification in Care and generous annual leave entitlement.
- Competitive pay
- Generous annual leave entitlement starting (for a 5 day worker) at 37 days a year rising to 39 days after five years and then to 41 days after ten years
