Housing Manager

Glasgow - covering Glasgow, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, and East Dunbartonshire

£44,304 - £46,636 per year

37.5 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Manager to join our Scotland Housing team. As a Housing Manager you will be responsible for leading the housing management team to deliver a service across several local authority areas. The team is responsible for all the operational issues associated with carrying out on a daily basis - rent arrears management, voids and allocations, ASB, Welfare Rights, tenant participation, compliance issues and estate management.

The ideal candidate would be a problem-solving housing manager, senior housing officer or area manager, currently working in housing, with several years’ experience of managing a large busy housing team

The role of Housing Manager will include:

  • Liaising daily with Head of Housing and the team on all aspects of tenancy management
  • Working with our Property Services, Asset, Development, Compliance, Community Development and Fire safety teams
  • Liaising with the Central Income Team, Customer Service Centre, Complaints and all other centrally based Group administration teams
  • Communicating with our other housing teams across Scotland. Building working relationships with all local authorities where our stock is based
  • Responsible for quarterly area committee reports, the annual local lettings strategy, the rent and service charge increase and assisting with the Annual Return on the Charter (ARC)

Skills and experiences:

  • Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification and Institute of Housing qualification
  • Proven experience of delivering high quality tenancy services and lettings functions
  • Experience of managing projects with strong management skills
  • Some experience of budget preparation and control
  • Proven experience of managing staff
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Some experience of budget preparation and control
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
