George began his housing career in 1979 with Livingston Development Corporation and then became part of the team who first opened the doors of Almond Housing Association in 1994.

The aim of the Association has always been to improve the quality of services for the people of Livingston and put tenants’ views at the heart of everything they do. Almond Housing Association is dedicated to having an open and friendly service and this has led to continuing support from local people.

George is proud to have led the team over the years and has announced his retirement with the confidence that the original aims and objectives are deeply rooted in the organisation today.

He said: “Almond Housing Association started back in 1994 when a team of us came together with the hope that we could make a difference to the people of Livingston. I am proud to say we have done that, and the association will continue to do so in the years to come.

“We have come a long way from when it all started and there have been many achievements. Not only have we provided high-quality services, but I believe we have gone above and beyond for our tenants.

“Leading Almond Housing Association up to 2020 has been a rewarding experience. I have every faith in the team as they progress into the future, putting our tenants at the heart of every decision they make.

“I look forward to seeing what the association does next.”

The board of directors have started the recruitment process and George will remain in post until they have appointed a new CEO. This is a difficult time for everyone during the coronavirus outbreak and the whole team will be putting the needs of their tenants first. Further announcements will be made in due course.
