CALA lodges Aberdeen city centre apartments plan

CALA Homes has teamed up with NHS Grampian to submit a planning application to Aberdeen City Council for a development within the former Royal Cornhill Hospital Grounds.

The application outlines a proposal for the creation of 36 one and two bedroom apartments at May Baird Avenue.

Ross Maclennan, land director at CALA Homes (North), said: “This development would replace currently disused surplus land with apartments created to CALA’s very high specifications and standards, which we believe would enhance and enrich the area, and potentially allow the NHS to reinvest funds from the sale of the land into health services in Grampian.

“We previously built apartments off May Baird Avenue which were completed in 2017 and these homes proved very popular with a variety of homebuyers, from downsizers to young professionals.

“We anticipate similar interest in this new development, should approval be granted. We look forward to working with the council to reach a positive decision in due course.”
