HomePointr provides people with homes by linking referral agencies to social housing providers across Scotland. It quickly matches available housing to people with different needs.

The social enterprise is one of the six organisations to receive the ShareLab award from Nesta of £29,000 to continue its good work. The fund rewards projects which use collaborative digital platforms to tackle social needs in new, innovative ways - including working with local councils, NHS trusts and community groups to provide essential support.

Other projects to have benefitted from the latest grants include an NHS breast milk bank and a crowdfunding service which allows people to donate towards employment training for the homeless.

Alice Casey, senior development manager at Nesta, said: “Since the programme began in 2016; platform technology has become more accessible and affordable. However, only a few pioneers are harnessing the opportunities of this technology for social good. These six pioneering projects will add to the growing evidence of what communities and public services can achieve when they work together.”
