New service to help Perth & Kinross tenants interested in house swaps

Perth and Kinross CouncilA new online service offered by Perth & Kinross Council will match tenants who are looking for a mutual exchange of homes.

The new Swap and Move service will make the process of house-swaps easier and safer for tenants who are looking to move to another property.

It links up council tenants with other tenants who may wish to swap homes with them. Rather than waiting on a transfer list, tenants can now actively search for the right home for them.

Housing and health convener, Councillor Dave Doogan, said: “Mutual exchange can be a much faster way of finding a new home for tenants, and is becoming increasingly popular.

“It also allows the council as a landlord to increase the range of housing options we can offer to people, and help ensure that people are living in properties that are suitable for their housing need.

“I would encourage any of our tenants looking for a swap to use this new online service. It is quick, safe and will give you access to a large number of properties.”

Tenants of Perth & Kinross can use the service free of charge by visiting www.swapandmove.co.uk and registering their details. They will then be matched with other tenants looking to swap their homes. A Swap and Move app is also available to download for phones and tablets.

Perth & Kinross Council will have the final sign-off to approve for any moves agreed between tenants.
