163-bed student accommodation completed in Dundee

A joint venture between Gylemuir Capital and Housing Growth Partnership (HGP) has reached practical completion of their purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) property in Dundee.

The property has 163 beds, with a sky deck, sky lounge, study space, laundry and gym. The development has a sedum roof to improve energy efficiency, air source heat pumps and solar panels to convert sunlight into electricity. The property has obtained an Energy Performance Certificate with rating A.

Located at 63 Brown Street in the Blackness Conservation Area of Dundee, the property is close to both the University of Dundee and Abertay University. It has seventeen six-bed clusters and sixty-one studios.

The necessary Houses in Multiple Occupation licence had been granted by Dundee City Council last month. The property is managed by Homes for Students under the Prestige Student Living brand.

Tim Goddard of Gylemuir Capital said: “We look forward to welcoming all our new residents to the building this month.”

Scott Lewis, chief operating officer at Homes for Students, added: “Parklands in Dundee is a much-needed addition to the city and its thriving student population. The property design has student experience and energy efficiency at its heart - two areas which align perfectly with our ethos. We look forward to supporting our new residents as they begin their student journey in the city which continues to grow in popularity.”
