48 new homes approved for Kirknewton

A development of 48 new homes in the village of Kirknewton has received approval in principle.

The application, submitted by Bathgate-based firm CC Drummond, relates to a five-acre site adjacent to Roosevelt Road and the village’s railway line. The proposal includes a mix of housing, including bungalows, and forms part of a wider area that was first granted development approval in 2021.

Speaking on behalf of the developer, planning agent Robin Matthew confirmed that the homes will be “bespoke” and designed in accordance with the council’s housing guidance.

“The house types will meet all relevant design standards, and features like acoustic fencing will be addressed during the detailed design stage,” he said.
