The month-long engagement exercise presented options for balancing the annual budget, with the council facing a funding shortfall of £35 million in 2024/25 and £83m over the next four years.

Councillor Alex McLellan, convener of the Finance and Resources Committee, said: “This is the first year of the enhanced budget consultation, so I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to participate.

“Aberdeen City Council’s budget situation continues to evolve, with the likes of a council tax freeze announced by the Scottish Government, which once approved will mean Council Tax will remain frozen for all bands.

“The consultation feedback on the officers’ savings options will be considered ahead of the budget setting meeting next year.”

Council co-leader Councillor Ian Yuill said: “Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the budget consultation.

“That feedback matters. My colleagues and I will be taking careful account of the budget consultation results during the budget-setting process.”

The detailed results will be shared with Full Council on December 13.

Phase 1 of the consultation – which drew 3,192 responses during July – asked people to prioritise service areas for investment.
