Abronhill Housing Association’s bid for a strategic partnership to assist with the maintenance of much of its stock has received no formal offers, the Association has confirmed.
The Strategic Partnership Prospectus, which closed on 16 January, was developed as part of Abronhill’s commitment to exploring all options that could strengthen long-term investment in its mixed tenure homes, where it is the minority landlord in many of the blocks, to support them in delivering the best possible outcomes for tenants.
Abronhill’s situation was highlighted on an episode of the Scottish Housing News Podcast, during which interim director Audrey Murphy warned that fragmented ownership is undermining efforts to maintain safe, compliant homes.
Although no formal submissions were received, Abronhill said it views this outcome as an opportunity to refocus and build a new strategy for growth, consolidation, and continued service improvement.
Audrey Murphy said: “While the response to the prospectus did not result in a formal offer, we remain absolutely committed to our tenants and to delivering high-quality, locally accessible services. This outcome allows us to develop a refreshed strategy that builds on our strengths, supports long-term investment in our homes, and ensures Abronhill continues to thrive as a community.”
Chair Anne Marie Thomson emphasised: “Tenants will see no change to the services they currently receive, and the association will be asking tenants to come and share their priorities with us in the next few months as we look to develop our new strategy.”
