Administrator appointed to Galashiels housebuilder

Thomson Cooper partner Richard Gardiner has been appointed as administrator.

The privately owned, independent business was established in 1928 and was a significant employer locally.

The administrators said: “Directors explored all options in an effort to preserve trading and jobs. Regrettably, 38 jobs were lost as there is no prospect of continuing to trade.”

Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) has coordinated a range of agencies to provide advice, guidance and support for the employees.
