The initiative provides a valuable opportunity for residents to gain first-hand experience of the gas and electrical compliance sector, helping them understand the role of skilled operatives in keeping homes safe while developing their employability and awareness of potential career pathways.

Participants will spend a week alongside a Cardo trade operative, during a regular 8-hour working day, gaining insight into the regular delivery of heating and electrical servicing and maintenance in residents’ homes. The placement will provide an opportunity to learn more about the skills, standards and professional requirements involved in working in a highly regulated environment.

This initiative will provide participating Albyn Housing residents with first-hand experience of working alongside skilled operatives, offering practical insight into the day-to-day delivery of gas and electrical compliance services.

“Participants will gain a better understanding of the skills, standards and professionalism required to work in a highly regulated environment, while building confidence and enhancing their employability skills.”
