Albyn staff come together to reflect on performance and shape future

Albyn Housing Society colleagues came together at Ross County Football Club for an all-staff away day focused on the findings from its recent staff survey, the organisation’s performance and the priorities for the year ahead.

The event provided an opportunity for staff from across the organisation to reflect openly on what is working well, where improvements are still needed and the progress being made across services.

The recent staff survey attracted an 88% response rate and recorded an employee engagement score of 73%. The morning session gave colleagues an opportunity to explore the findings in more detail, discuss the issues that matter most to staff and identify areas where Albyn can continue to improve as a place to work.

The day also focused on Albyn’s wider performance and achievements, giving colleagues the opportunity to recognise the progress made and, importantly, the difference being delivered for tenants and communities.

Over the last year, more than 850 tenants have been supported by Albyn’s Tenancy Sustainment team. This included 146 adaptations, worth £230,000, helping tenants to remain independent in their homes and financial support of over £140,000 through the Society’s Tenant Support Fund.

Looking ahead, colleagues discussed some of the challenges and opportunities facing Albyn and the communities it serves. Feedback and ideas from the day will now be considered alongside other engagement as Albyn develops its next five-year Business Plan.

Albyn Group interim chief executive, Maureen Knight, said: “The away day gave us a valuable opportunity to step back and take an honest look at where we are as an organisation. We wanted to understand what our staff survey is telling us, recognise the progress we are making and be equally clear about where we can still improve.

“It was also important to recognise what colleagues are delivering every day and the impact that has for our tenants. We have made good progress, and the challenge is to keep building on that.

“Our staff know our services and communities well, so the feedback from the day will also be valuable as we develop our next five-year Business Plan. That wasn’t the sole purpose of the day, but it is important that staff voice forms part of our thinking about what comes next.”

Hosted at Ross County Football Club, Gary Muir of the Mudd Partnership facilitated the event, creating space for challenge, reflection and open discussion throughout the day.
