Anne Marie Brown reflects on time at Dalmuir Park ahead of retirement

Dalmuir Park Housing Association (DPHA) chief executive Anne Marie Brown is to step down from her role next year, marking the end of a tenure defined by resilience, community focus, and organisational transformation.
Ms Brown, who took up the position in January 2020, described the appointment as the fulfilment of her career ambition. Returning to West Dunbartonshire, where she grew up, worked for most of her life, and continues to live, she led the organisation through some of its most challenging years.
Just three months into her leadership, DPHA faced the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the cost-of-living crisis and the loss of a much-loved colleague. Ms Brown said these events highlighted the strength of the organisation and the Dalmuir community, noting the spirit of support and solidarity that carried DPHA through difficult times.
Reflecting on her achievements, Ms Brown pointed to her focus on embedding people, culture, values, health and wellbeing, governance, and community at the heart of DPHA’s operations.
“People are our biggest assets, and by people, I mean our staff, board members, tenants and customers. Invest in and believe in your people and your organisation will flourish through inspiration and innovation,” she said.
Ms Brown added that she hoped her leadership style and the changes she helped implement had a lasting impact on services and the lives of those in the Dalmuir community.
She said: “I wish my successor well and I am excited to see what DPHA achieves in the years ahead. It’s been a privilege and a pleasure leading this great organisation.”
Richard Fairley, head of people and culture at DPHA, praised Anne Marie’s contribution. “Anne Marie has made a significant contribution to DPHA during her time as chief executive, particularly through her focus on people, culture and community.
“Her leadership helped strengthen the organisation through some challenging periods, and we are grateful for her commitment to our people, our customers and board members.
“While we wish Anne Marie well for the future, our attention is now on the recruitment process for her successor, which is already underway to ensure a smooth transition for the organisation.”
The recruitment process for Brown’s successor is already underway.
