Appeal for individuals to join Aberdeen poverty and inequality working group

An appeal has gone out for individuals to take part in a working group to help understand the issues being faced by those experiencing poverty and inequality.

Aberdeen City Council’s Anti-Poverty and Inequality Committee is looking for support from a group of up to 12 individuals for an initial period of 12 months to better understand how to tackle poverty and inequality in Aberdeen.

Anti-poverty committee convener, Councillor Christian Allard, said: “We encourage anyone who is looking to make a positive change in Aberdeen to participate in this new working group.

“The support of this working group will be fundamental in understanding how we can better support those currently experiencing poverty and inequality.”

Vice convener, Councillor Desmond Bouse, added: “The support of this working group will enable us to provide better support to individuals and communities across the city who may be struggling and will help us to tackle the issues currently being faced by so many.”

Those wishing to take part in the working group should fill out the following application form: Formation of a Working Group to support Council’s Anti-Poverty and Inequality Committee - Aberdeen City Council - Citizen Space

Applications are open until 3rd February 2023 and a member of staff will be in touch once the form is completed.
