Argyll and Bute launches housing survey

Argyll and Bute Council is urging residents of Argyll and Bute to participate in a survey as part of a wider study to help understand the area’s housing needs and neighbourhoods.

Conducted by Research Resource on behalf of the council, the results of the Housing Need and Demand Assessment will influence future decisions the council makes on housing investment and policy covering communities in Argyll and Bute.

To make sure that the results of the study are accurate, Research Resource needs as many households as possible to participate. The researchers will contact random households directly across the area during June, July and August this year. Interviews will be undertaken by telephone on the islands and in more remote areas, and face-to-face on the mainland.

The council’s Policy Lead for Economic Development, Islands, Rural Communities and Housing, Councillor Jim Lynch, said: “We’re experiencing a housing emergency in Argyll and Bute, so it’s vital that we know what the housing requirements are in our communities and the types of housing people need. This information will help us to plan ahead and prioritise investment in these specific areas. To enable us to achieve this though we need people to provide us with feedback so I would urge people to take part.”
