Around 90 new homes planned in Angus village

Muir Homes has submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) to Angus Council which outlines its intention to submit a planning application for a residential development on land off Newtyle Road in Muirhead.

The developer will now begin a comprehensive programme of community engagement, which will include an online event on May 25 and an in-person event organised with the Muirhead, Birkhill and Liff Community Council in June.

These events will give the housebuilder the opportunity to share its proposals for the development with members of the public and other interested parties. It will also be an opportunity for people living in the community to share their views and give feedback to inform the content of the detailed designs.

Muir is preparing to deliver circa 90 homes. The proposed plans will also make provision for roads and drainage infrastructure, potentially a farm shop and community orchard, and as well as land dedicated to play provision and open space.

Paul McKay, managing director at Muir Homes, said: “Our Proposal of Application Notice for land off Newtyle Road allows us to begin the important process of community engagement in order to discuss our development proposals with the community. We are fully committed to a detailed programme to engage with local people. We are keen to get the views and opinions from as many stakeholders as we can.

“We will work with the local community council and the landowner to discuss the potential community benefits new housing will bring. We would encourage the local community to attend both the virtual and in-person event. Their views will inform the emerging development proposal in order to make a detailed planning application in the Autumn.”

A virtual consultation event will take place on Wednesday 25th May 2022 between 1 and 2 pm and 6 and 7 pm.  Members of the project team will be available during this event to respond to questions from members of the public and interested parties.

If you wish to make comments on the proposals you may do so at the above event, using the project website www.eastadamstonmuirhead.co.uk. This will be live on the day of the event (25th May).
