Lar Housing Trust has appointed Stuart McLaren to its main board and reappointed Ken Macintosh and Monica Gupta.
Stuart McLaren was recently promoted to managing director of the organisation’s construction subsidiary Lar Projects Ltd. This follows the appointment of Mikko Ramstedt as the new chief executive.
In other moves, Ken Macintosh, the former presiding officer at the Scottish Parliament and current chair at Lar, has been reappointed to the main board along with independent trustee, consultant physician Monica Gupta.
Lar Housing Trust said the governance update will help the organisation with the next stage of its development.
Mr Macintosh said: “Lar is a fascinating, high impact housing charity and I’m honoured to serve another term as chair of this remarkable organisation.
“I’m also delighted that Monica will remain as an independent trustee and warmly welcome Stuart to the main board. Their contributions to Lar have already been substantial and will remain crucial as we continue to grow.”
Lar Projects Ltd has also freshened up its board with the appointment of solicitor Andrew Cowan as a non-executive director. The managing partner at solicitors TC Young, Mr Cowan is also currently company secretary to Lar and both its subsidiaries.
Lar Projects has also reappointed two vastly experienced figures to its board. Former group CEO at Mactaggart & Mickel, Ed Monaghan, and ex-Bank of Scotland/Lloyds senior corporate banker Alan Brennan, will serve another term.
Ken Macintosh added: “Lar Projects benefits hugely from having such expertise and experience on its board. Andrew, Ed and Alan are very well known and greatly respected in the sector and we are very fortunate to have them on board.”
