Cairn helps tenants secure over £1.4m in additional income

Cairn Housing Association has helped tenants secure more than £1.4 million in additional income over the past year through its dedicated welfare benefits service.

Over the last financial year, Cairn’s team of welfare benefits advisors supported 442 tenants to access a total of £1,472,261 in financial support, ensuring they are receiving the benefits they are entitled to.

The service provides tailored support to tenants, helping them navigate what can often be a complex system and maximising their household income at a time when many are facing ongoing financial pressures.

Cairn has also recently partnered with Lightning Reach, a platform that connects people to more than 2,500 financial support schemes from charities, organisations and councils, further strengthening the support available to tenants.

Audrey Simpson, CEO of Cairn, said: “Securing over £1.4m in additional income for our tenants is a fantastic achievement and highlights the real impact our team has every day.

“At a time when many households are continuing to feel financial pressure, this support can make a significant difference to people’s lives. We are committed to making sure our tenants are able to access all the help available to them, and services like this are a vital part of that.”

Cairn’s welfare benefits service continues to play an important role in supporting tenants to sustain their tenancies and improve their financial wellbeing.
