Work is now officially underway to create a new development of 49 affordable homes in Cupar.

Delivered for Kingdom Housing Association by family homebuilder Campion Homes, the project will deliver a diverse mix of high-quality homes designed to meet local needs - from one-bedroom bungalows to spacious four-bedroom family houses.

Importantly, the development includes accessible properties tailored for wheelchair users and older residents, ensuring inclusivity at the heart of the design.

Seamlessly connected to an existing Kingdom Housing Association development, the new site, accessed from Tailabout Drive, will feature a green corridor of open space, creating a welcoming environment for residents. With Cupar train station and local amenities nearby, the location offers excellent transport links to St Andrews, Edinburgh, Dundee, and Aberdeen.

All homes will be built with sustainability front and centre, incorporating air source heat pumps and solar roof panels to boost energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Dougie Herd, joint managing director at Campion Homes, said: “At Campion Homes, we are proud to be recognised as a leader in affordable housing, having delivered nearly 2,800 high-quality homes across East Central Scotland. This new development in Cupar builds on more than three decades of expertise and a deep commitment to sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity.

“As a trusted family-owned business, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Working closely with Kingdom Housing Association, we are not only creating homes that meet and exceed industry standards, but also empowering communities and transforming lives.”

Tricia Hill, development and sustainability director at Kingdom Group, added: “Kingdom Housing Association is committed to building at least 300 new homes per year to help tackle the housing emergency in Scotland. To that end, it is really positive to see this new development start on site alongside our partner Campion Homes which will bring a diverse range of high-quality, affordable homes to an already thriving community in Cupar.”

Campion Homes and Kingdom Housing Association have worked together for over 30 years and the new development follows the successful recent completion of new homes in Leuchars and Leslie.
