Taking place at Aberdeenshire’s Oldmeldrum Golf Club, more than 80 golfers took part in the event, including staff from Barratt and David Wilson Homes, contractors, suppliers and friends of the business.

Cornerstone, a charity which delivers care services to adults and young people with additional support needs, was picked by the housebuilder’s North Scotland branch as its Charity of the Year.

All proceeds from the event are going towards the charity’s work within the local community, with a raffle, auction and hole sponsorship all going towards the fundraising amount. 

Kevin Urquhart, construction director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland and co-organiser of the golf day, said: “The generosity shown throughout the event was fantastic and will make a big difference to those supported by Cornerstone. 

We even managed to increase our fundraising total from last year’s golf day by £2,000 - a reflection of the support we received.

“At Barratt and David Wilson Homes, giving back to the communities where we live and work has always been a priority for us. Cornerstone provides vital services to people who need them most, and we are proud to support the charity’s work. 

As of yet in 2026, the housebuilder’s North Scotland branch has taken part in a variety of fundraising activities to raise money for the charity. 

In June, seven employees took part in the Aberdeen Kiltwalk, while six colleagues took on the Beast Race. In the office, the team has also held several bake sales. 

Upcoming fundraisers include the housebuilder’s fundraising charity dinner, which takes place every year.

Picking a Charity of the Year forms part of Barratt and David Wilson Homes wider social responsibility drive, falling under charitable division of the business, the Barratt Redrow Foundation.

Barratt Redrow has a Community Fund which gives £1,500 per month to local causes, with a particular priority given towards supporting children, young people and those facing disadvantage.
