Charity Spotlight: Over £14,000 raised by Lintel Trust at annual charity golf day

Lintel Trust has announced that it has raised £14,145.19 for its Small Grants Fund through its 29th Annual Charity Golf Day, helping to provide support for Scottish social housing communities.

Taking place on 29 May 2026 at the Haggs Castle Golf Club, the event saw 88 golfers from the housing and construction sectors for a day of networking, fundraising and gentle competition.

The annual event unites long-standing supporters as well as newcomers who are dedicated to strengthening communities.

Money raised from the event will be routed to Lintel Trust’s Small Grants Fund, which supports grassroots projects in Scotland’s social housing communities.

Individual grants may be small but their effect is believed to be far-reaching. Funding has helped initiatives addressing social isolation, promoting good mental health and
wellbeing and generating opportunities for people to connect as well as practical projects that improve everyday life for residents.

Amanda Gauld, social value advisor at LHC Procurement Group said: “The success of this year’s Golf Day demonstrates the incredible generosity and commitment of our supporters.

“Every pound raised will help us continue investing in community-led projects that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.”

Gauld added: “These grants often support initiatives that larger funding streams cannot reach, helping communities build resilience, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for people to thrive. We are enormously grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, donated prizes or volunteered their time to make the event such a success.”

Alongside support from partners and sponsors, the event also received support from golf clubs across Scotland, with 11 clubs donating fourballs for the auction, adding a major contribution to the overall fundraising total.

DM Integrated, who sponsored breakfast and made sure players started the day well for the event, were hailed the winners of the Lintel Trust Cup.

Mark Thorley, Lintel Trust chair, said: “The continued success of Lintel Trust’s Annual Golf Day demonstrates the strength of collaboration across our sector and the shared commitment to creating positive social impact.

“The funds raised will support community-led initiatives that address real local needs, helping individuals and communities to thrive.”

Thorley added: “Through Lintel Trust’s Small Grants Fund, we see first-hand how relatively small investments can create lasting change, whether that’s reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, supporting vulnerable residents, or strengthening community resilience.”
