Norman’s wife, Christine, presents the shields to Donald MacLeod and Willie MacDonald of the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Education Department along with HHP chief executive, Dena Macleod.

Norman was committed to serving his community and contributed significantly to the success of HHP. He challenged and encouraged us to do what was best for our customers and his impact will linger on for many years.

In having this shield, we hope Norman’s legacy lives on throughout the Outer Hebrides, as a little bit of encouragement goes a long way.

William Macdonald, director of education, said: “We are delighted to work with HHP in receiving the shields. It is a fitting tribute to Norman and encouragement is something that we can all provide in working with our schools.

“The last two years have been particularly challenging and there has been excellent work done in our schools and it is good to recognise the positive contributions that young people have made.”
